According to Article V, Section IV of the tribal Constitution states: If a Council member should die…the Tribal Council shall declare the position vacant. The Tribal Council shall fill a vacancy by special election unless less than ninety (90) days remain in the term, in which case the Tribal Council shall leave the position vacant. The person who fills the vacant position shall only serve out the term of the person being replaced.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Election Board will be holding a special Election to fill the vacant position on Tribal Council on July 25, 2026 at the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal office. This position will be for the remainder of this election term (Ending October 2026).
If you are interested in filling this position, please submit a petition to the tribal secretary with fifteen (15) enrolled tribal members and their enrollment number. Please make sure names are legible. Petitions need to be submitted to Tribal Secretary by July 10th, 2026 for an election to be held on July 25th, 2026 from 8:00 A.M to 8:00 P.M.
