The Tribal Internal Auditor has the responsibility for performing financial audit coverage of all Stockbridge-Munsee Community governmental and enterprise activities.

The Tribal Internal Auditor reports to the Tribal Council and is responsible to assess the adequacy of internal control systems, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable laws, regulations, contracts, and policies of fiscal matters applicable to the tribe.

The scope of Tribal Internal Auditor encompasses the examination and evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of an activity’s or organization’s established system of internal controls, accuracy of financial records, efficiency of operations, and the degree of compliance with the established system of internal controls including managerial plans, policies, and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Audits performed include normal recurring audits of all Stockbridge-Munsee Community programs and enterprises, special audits and investigations as requested by the appropriate authority.
